Dog and Rooster, Inc. is currently seeking to add a Web Designer/UI Designer to their staff! We work on a variety of custom design projects across media. Your designer eye and strategy for how your designs will function online is very important to us.

Participate in all stages of interface development life-cycle from initial concept, gathering requirements, designing prototypes, development, testing and deployment.

Work in a collaborative team environment. Supervise and task other project staff including other web developers and programmers. The Web Designer will also assist in the development of new web functionality, debugging/testing, and maintenance of company public/members site and intranet.

Position Requirements

  • You have significant experience creating highly-effective and beautiful user-focused interfaces across a variety of environments (mobile, web apps, dashboards, e-commerce, etc). Your design is well thought out, purposeful and has intent You can articulate your design choices.
  • You have experience planning and executing both redesigns as well as new-concept design projects, from start to finish. Superior aesthetic sensibilities in areas of visual design, interaction design & composition.
  • Keen eye for cutting edge imagery, layout, typography, color, and otherwise solid understanding of visual communication.
  • You have a strong understanding of user flows and information architecture.
  • You have the ability to see and communicate your ideas to clients and the team.
  • Provide deliverables such as sketches, wireframes, site maps, navigation systems, page flow diagrams, comps and working prototypes.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc) 5+ years in Photoshop.
  • In depth knowledge JavaScript, CSS, HTML, JQuery and XHTML. Understanding of HTML 5 and Responsive Design.
  • Familiarity with current mobile, e-newsletter and new digital product trends.
  • Strong online portfolio of work demonstrating knowledge base, links to live websites, samples of wireframes, sample of graphic production. Strong portfolio showcasing experience across user experience, interface, interactive, graphic, and Web design.

Bonus Contributions: SEO, website performance optimization, knowledge of PHP or Object Oriented PHP, server configurations.

Bachelor's degree, with concentrated study in Web Design, Interactive Media, Graphic Design, Design, Interface Design, or Computer Science.
